Project-Oriented Classes
At Purls Tucson we have project-oriented, multiple-session workshops as well as 1 to 2 hour technique-driven classes without projects. Check out our "Technique Classes" and "Saturday Clinics" and "Beginning Knitting & Crochet Classes" and "Knit & Crochet Dr. Aid" for our other classes.
Some classes fill up early, so be sure to sign up for those that you want to secure your spot. Classes without registered, or paid, participants may be canceled or moved to a different time slot, so please register early. If the classes do not have enough participants, the instructor has the option to cancel the class, so please call to verify the status.
Workshop participants enjoy the sense of "knitting along" with others while the projects and their skills grow and grow. We schedule workshops for multiple classroom sessions with time in between for knit-alongs to get your project up to the next stage. Workshops are restricted to people who already possess proficiency in their basic knitting skills of casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off. You will learn any other techniques required for the project during the workshop. Come join the fun, and dare to push your skills to new heights.
Knit Doctor Appointments - daily, $20/hr
Socks 101 - 3 sessions, $55
Learn to knit socks on double-pointed needles. You will have your first of many socks finished during the course of this workshop. Learn the anatomy of a sock and tricks to help working in the round easier. The pattern is included in the workshop.
Note: Beginning Socks does not get automatic enrollment in Sock Club.

Not a Celebrity Scarf, but It Should Be
This ever-popular scarf can be made in your choice of sock weight or worsted weight self-striping yarn. Learn to do the basic short-row technique to produce an eye-catching unique scarf. Participants will need to purchase 300 yards of worsted weight or 400 yards of sock-weight yarn for the project from our great selection. If using sock weight yarn, bring a size 4 needle. If using worsted weight, bring a size 9 needle.
Saturdays, 2:00-3:00; 9/11, 9/18, 9/25
Entrelac Scarf
Learn the Entrelac technique while making this beautiful shawl/scarf. If you already know the technique, you will enjoy making this project. Your friends will be envious when they see how lovely this is, and they will all want one! Choose colors from our selection of "Sock Bits". Bring sizes 3-5 needles (depends on if you are a tight, or loose, knitter).
Wednesdays, 3:00-4:00; 9/15, 9/22, 9/29
Loopy Fringed Ribbon Scarf
Make a delightful self-fringing scarf using ribbon yarn. With this technique, there is no need to cut off strands for fringe because it is already built into the design of the scarf! Participants need to purchase 200 yards of ribbon yarn from our selection. Be sure to bring size 11 or 13 needles.
Thursdays, 3:00-4:00; 9/9, 9/16, 9/23
Lace Sampler Stole $75 (14 sessions, includes pattern)
Come fill your summer with some light and fun knitting and have a beautiful stole just in time for winter. This is a chance to learn 14 different lace patterns, how to add a border, and how to block your completed stole
Pre-registration is required as this class will fill up quickly.
You will need 1000-1200 yds of lace weight yarn. Come see our fabulous lace yarn selection! You will also need size US 3-5 needles.
PLEASE NOTE: The first class is 90 minutes, all future classes will be 60 minutes.
