It is kind of comforting to get back into a nice organized routine after the hectic holiday season, but I also like to look forward to new things. So, we at Purls have just that…On March 7th and 8th, we will have national instructor GWEN BORTNER visiting our store. She will put on 2 days of incredible workshops. Gwen has taught at THE NATIONAL NEEDLEWORK ASSOCIATION CONVENTION, STITCHES, and she taught the Purls’ owners on a knitting cruise. Enrollment is limited! Payment is due when you sign up for classes. The exciting classes will consist of (2) three hour classes and (2) one hour classes.  Please see our "Upcoming Events"  page for further details. We are very excited to see Gwen again and know you will enjoy her classes.  The Project of the Month for February is “Wrap up in Scarves”.  Learn some new stitches and techniques for a quick and satisfying project and enter our “Design a Scarf Contest”.  We will teach you how to adapt simple stitch patterns into full length scarves. Contest deadline will be April 1st, 2010. Dates and times for the scarf demos, and further information on the contest, are available on our "Project of the Month"  page. Our March project has to do with charity knitting, so if you are involved in charity knitting, please give us a call and we can schedule time to highlight your charity. Also in March, we will be doing a yarn dying class with sock yarn! You do not have to be a member of the Sock Club to participate. It will be held on Sunday, March 21st, from 11:00-5:00.
